Do you know how to sew? Tired of buying patterns and spending many hours making them fit?  Are you comfortable around your sewing machine and understand sewing and construction?   Are you interested in creating your own fashion garments?

Let's make a Sloper

What is a sloper?  A sloper is a basic pattern which is drafted using your personal detailed measurements.  Garments are created using at least one of 4 basic slopers:  bodice, sleeve, skirt and pant.  A bodice sloper is a basic jewel-necked design. Think of a sloper as a second skin - we are creating an exact replica of you! Once the sloper is fitted and trued, it is then used as the basic building block for our top.

In this workshop we will design a bodice sloper.  After learning the correct way to measure yourself and how to draft the front bodice sloper and the back bodice sloper, we will then sew a muslin.  We will then make any adjustments and alterations to your sloper.  As it turns out, even custom measurements need to be fitted and trued!  No two size 6 girls fit the same garment the same way!  If necessary, a second muslin will be created after the pattern is trued and final adjustments made.

We will then learn to add ease and seam allowances and create a tank top using your custom sloper.
